ENGINEERED WOOD
Is constructed of layers of both hardwood and plywood, where solid hardwood is a solid piece of wood with no layers. Engineered hardwood construction has durable, high-performance qualities. It is constructed with multi-layers of wood; each layer is positioned in a different direction.

The benefits of an Engineered Hardwood Floor

Firstly, engineered wood flooring is very affordable. While engineered wood uses less real wood compared to the real thing, it has a very authentic wood look but for a lower price. Engineered wood flooring is also extremely durable. The multiple layers of plywood, coupled with a protective surface, makes for a highly resistant choice for high-traffic areas of your home. You will be able to find very similar, if not identical, engineered wood flooring styles when comparing to solid wood flooring. This is because the surface layer of engineered wood flooring is a real wood veneer. The wood grains and patterns, as well as stains and colours, create a truly authentic look and feel to your flooring.

3 STRIP

3 strip engineered hardwood flooring is essentially multiple strips of real hardwood bonded together with a plywood base to give additional strength and stability. 3 strip engineered wood flooring is both versatile and durable because of its engineered base layers.  It can be used in much more flexible ways than solid wood flooring, for example, it can be laid over an underlay or fixed down to the subfloor, it can be used with underfloor heating.

HERRINGBONE

Herringbone flooring, which is also known as parquet block flooring is one of the most distinctive and recognisable hardwood floors.  Rather than planks of flooring, the herringbone pattern is made up of smaller blocks of flooring that can be laid in a variety of geometric patterns, with the most common pattern being herringbone.  It is important to remember that ‘herringbone’ refers to the pattern and style of flooring and not the colour or surface finish.

1 STRIP/PLANK

1 Strip engineered flooring is extremely versatile and durable and is the most popular type of hardwood flooring around. Multi layers of plywood and then hardwood on the surface help give extra strength and stability. Installation over underlay, underfloor heating and use in rooms such as kitchens and conservatories is fully warranted. 1 strip flooring refers to the single plank of hardwood that is used on the surface layer of the the board.

PARQUET

Parquet block flooring is both elegant and luxurious and transforms any space, from a rustic cottage to a modern apartment. If you want your flooring to make a bold statement, parquet block will certainly add personality to any room. Parquet blocks are very versatile and can be laid in a variety of patterns depending on your personal preference. Our engineered parquet block flooring is also compatible with underfloor heating adding versatility.
